Yes. If your garage door is stuck open and your home is unsecured, or you physically cannot get your vehicle out, call ReadyLift for priority emergency service. We serve all of Hampton Roads including Suffolk, Chesapeake, Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Hampton, Newport News, and Isle of Wight County.
Emergency calls outside our standard hours of Monday through Saturday 7am to 7pm may carry an additional after-hours fee. We tell you what that fee is before you commit so there are no surprises on the invoice. The diagnostic fee applies toward any repair work approved on the same visit.
Locate the red emergency release cord hanging from the opener carriage above the door. Pulling it disconnects the door from the opener and allows manual operation. If springs are intact the door should feel manageable to lift. If the door is extremely heavy a spring may be broken and manual lifting is not safe. Call ReadyLift for same-day emergency service and do not force a heavy door as it can fall suddenly.
Yes. A garage door stuck open overnight provides direct access to your home in most cases, either through the interior door or through the garage itself. It also exposes your vehicle. This qualifies as an emergency situation and we treat it as a priority call.
The most common emergency calls we receive are broken torsion spring leaving the door inoperable, snapped lift cable causing one side to drop, door off its tracks creating a pinch hazard, door stuck open after a power outage or opener failure, and vehicle impact damage where the door cannot close or secure. Most of these can be resolved in a single same-day visit.
